A few months ago Google aquired the Keyhole 3d mapping software. Here is the results. One of the few things google actually charges for (im sure they will have more services they charge for in the future.) But don’t fret there is a free version. Unfortunatly the software download has been down due to overwhelming popularity. As soon as I get my hands on it I’ll post my thoughts

Google Maps Open to Web developers
June 30th, 2005 by The Knighthawk | Comments Off | Filed in base, gtotw, taskItunes 4.9
June 28th, 2005 by The Knighthawk | Comments Off | Filed in base, ipod, podcastingWas released for download today with the much anticipated “Podcast” feature. I checked it out… Pretty cool. You can now browse and subscribe to thousands of podcast right in Itunes. Unfortunatly i don’t see much of a need for the Ipodder clients anymore. I think it’s going to bring podcasting to a whole new audience! Watch out!
Ohh and yeah Interstate 1002 is in their directory
Google Video
June 28th, 2005 by The Knighthawk | Comments Off | Filed in base, gtotw, taskSo Here it is Google has their video site, I’ve seen this a bit but now the full service is available (still beta though) There is a browser plugin you can download that lets you watch the video that your search results display. I played with it a bit and it looks like only some of the video can be viewed. Another potentially cool feature is the ability to upload video to google video (looks like as much as you want for free!) and Google will convert it to a streaming file for anyone to view. Kind of like Our Media though I never could seem to get that to work. Anyway check out Google Video. What do you think?
Congrats Kirk & Katie

Six Flags Elitch Gardens
June 20th, 2005 by The Knighthawk | Comments Off | Filed in baseAileen and I picked up season passes for Six Flags Elitch Gardens, earlier this week and on Friday afternoon we got a chance to hit it up and check it out. All in all we had a great time but after mere minutes there we both felt very spoiled coming from Ohio. On top of being about the size of my parents backyard, their higher profile rides were mediocre at best. The real thrill at Ellitches is riding rides that look and feel as if they are falling apart. Being located downtown is cool, but it pretty much leaves no room for expansion. Apparently there is some ride where you lay down on your stomach and it is supposes to give you the feeling of flying but we saw it after we had left the park. Not a big deal because we have passes and we’ll probably be back. It’s certainly nothing like a Cedar Point, I would say it falls somewhere between a Geauga Lake and The Medina County Fair Minus the farm stuff.

Car,Bus,Train,Plane,Train,Shuttle
June 7th, 2005 by The Knighthawk | Comments Off | Filed in baseBack in Vegas once again. 2nd time since April. But as many of you know this time its for work. I am attending the Educomm side to Infocomm this week. Much smoother trip than a few weeks ago going to Ohio. Some how I got seated next to the drunkest, loudest and most obnoxious guy on the plane. but to say the least he was entertaining and made the flight real short. When I did finally get to Vegas I rode the 9dollar round trip shuttle to the Beautiful Aladdin Hotel and Casino Resort what ever it’s called. Even though I had made a reservation over a month ago the room type I reserved was sold out so I was complimentarily upgraded to a larger room. Let me tell you, this room is larger than my apartment, I can’t believe it. Once I got there and admired the space i was going to call home for the next few days I changed washed up and headed to the Preconference reception at one of the Ballrooms in the Hilton. Unfortunatly I couldnt check in cause Igot there at 7:05PM and the “systems shut down promtly at 7:00Pm” This was all thanks to the monorail I rode over that broke down. Not a big deal i’ll just need to check in tomarrow morning ugh. The reception was nothing special, just a ton of people having cocktails and eating fingerfoods all night. There was a band playing pretty much disco songs all night and they also had an Elvis impersonator, a Marilyn Monroe impersonator and a couple show girls roaming the ballroom. It looks to be a busy day tomarrow. Time for some sleep.
