Virtual Earth VS Google Maps

Virtual Earth and Google Maps, side-by-side
Unfortunatly They don’t let you zoom in all the way on MSN.. which i think is their only advantage, MSN Lets you zoom in more than Google does. MSN also labels I25 correctly and not just 87 as google does. I had never heard of that hiway as US87 until I saw google maps.

My Yahoo!

This is kinda cool, It utiilizes google maps and the new MSN Virtual Earth side by side in a comparison. you can navigate by dragging either map and the other will correspond.. Very Interesting.

NHL unveils new logo

New Logo New NHL Logo Old Logo Old NHL Logo

That’s Right theNHL unveiled a new logo The changes are very moderate but I like it. I did Like The orange but rationalizing the silver to resemble the stanley cup is good enough for me. Oh and they realeased the ‘05-’06 schedule. I gotta figure out when the sabres come to town.

New Rules For NHL ‘05 - ‘06

# Goalies will be limited in the size of equipment they can wear. Pads, gloves and blockers cannot exceed a specified length or width.

# The elimination of the two-line pass, like international hockey.

# A new overtime format featuring a shootout if the game is still tied after four-on-four hockey for five minutes and three-on-three hockey for another three.

# Goal lines will be moved back two feet and blue-lines will be two feet wider, creating a bigger offensive zone.

# Touch icing, which has caused many injuries to NHL defencemen over the years, is eliminated. Players only have to cross the icing line with his skate or stick to win the race for the puck.

# The old tag-up offside rule is back. Players can leave the offensive zone to nullify a delayed offside call. Before, the play was instantly called dead.

# Stricter fines for diving and criticizing officials. A delay-of-game penalty will be called on any player who shoots the puck into the stands from his defensive zone.

# A zero tolerance approach to obstruction and interference

Mexcellent!

Well, we had our first annual(?) Casa Bonita outing last night. All I have to say is that place is totally insane. Yes Jack, it pretty much is the Mexican Disneyland. I was speecheless all night, even while I was chowing down on my plate of crappy mexican food. LOL by far the worst mexican food I’ve come across in Denver. But It is certainly not a place you visit for the food. It’s the High Divers, Mariachis, Puppet Shows, Dancing Gorillias, Haunted Caves etc that you are really there for. If you ever come to Denver you have to go to Casa Bonita. I just need to catch that episode of South Park now where Cartman spends the day there.

I took this from their site
“Casa Bonita opened early in 1974. It took approximately one year to create Casa Bonita.
The pink tower on the outside is 85 feet fall. The dome is covered with 22-karat gold leaf and has a statue of the last Aztec emperor - Quahuatomec.
The fountain outside of the front of the restaurant was shipped in pieces from Mexico.
The inside of Casa Bonita is designed to look like a Mexican Village at night complete with dining areas such as Plaza, Poolside, Caverns, Gold Mine and Silver Mine. Find Black Bart’s secret hideout full of mystery and intrigue.

With over 52,000 square feet and seating for 1,100 guests, Casa Bonita is the perfect place to hold a group event or birthday party . Complete your exciting dining experience with puppet shows, arcade games and a visit to El Mercado, Casa Bonita’s Giftshop.”

New Scooter

After Two months of anxiety and unfortunate waiting, Aileen finally got her scooter yesterday. Well that’s not entirely true. She did pick it up last Saturday but after only an hour of riding it, the thing pretty much shut down. On warranty and almost a week later we were able to pick it up with the faulty fuel line unclogged and ready to go. We were already downtown when she got the call so we shot right over there to pick it up. Unfortunatly Aileen had a dress on so Fortunatly for me I got to drive it home. Compared to our other scooter this thing has some power. I guess that is why the seat is designed to carry two people. I am also glad we have helmets too!

Could Googling become illegal?

Thanks, Marc for This one Personally I think, if it happened, Canada would be making a big mistake and it would be something, that more than anything could hinder the country. Imagine not being able to search the internet…

Fire up The Zamboni.

I couldn’t have said this any better!

Thats a tasty Burger

I ended up watching this documentary for the second time this weekend. Makes ya hungry. ANyway it’s all about very local hamburger joints and their take on them. IAfterwatching that sure enough I went to “denver best Burger” and had a nice lunch. I wanted to try all of the burgers on the movie. One that stood out was the ButterBurger. Just very interesting and apparently Wisconsin’s Butter Burger Is sold at a Culvers in Col Springs. So you guessed it, I need to get mu butt down there and try one. A coworker here knows all about Culvers and she says that their Concrete shakes, Custard and Fried Cheese Curds are all tops. I have a full meal at culvers in front of me very soon.

The iTunes Effect

An interesting article on how iTunes affected podcasting and podcasters in its first week of podcast support. It’s funny because until this release of iTunes there wasn’t much podcasting coming from the major media networks, but now they are plastered all over the Itunes podcasting Site. What idiots! Oh well. Oh and according to Itunes, The top Podcast of the week is the “iTunes New Music Tuesday,” Gotta love it! Sigh.

Weekend Already

I love holiday weekends… It makes the following week short thus going by really fast! Already another weekend just hours away. I love it! Anyway, if your looking for something to do this weekend, may I suggest going to see “War of the Worlds” When we got to the theatre to see there were signs that the theatre printed their selves that pretty much said “don’t bring children to this movie” And damn they were right. Its funny cause the movie had no crazy sex or overwhelming violence in it so it seemed the group that did the ratings felt it was more of a “pg13″ movie. Well, I think it should have gotten an “R” because War of The Worlds was far worse than several “R” movies I have seen in the past. Sure no Sex and violence but It creeped the hell outta me last weekend. Anyway.. go see it, A great Thrill!
