Well, Tony and Matt are on their way, wohoo. I’ll be picking them up at roughly 5:10. we’ll probably hit dinner after that. Anyway, I’m excited to see them, We’re gonna escape for a night up to Steamboat and Enjoy the town and of course the Strawberry Springs. Matt is really looking forward to the relaxation so yes it will be a laid back weekend.
I joined a friend last night who had an extra ticket to the AVS preseason game vs The Detroit Redwings. It was great to finally see the players back on the ice. On top of that it was an awesome game for the home fans, who I’ve learned real quick absolutely hate the Redwings. Down 1-0 at the end of the first They rallied to win it 2-1. Concluded teh game was a preview of the “shootout” which will now occur after a 5 min overtime if the game is still a tie. I must admit It was quite exciting and almost felt staged. Each team had three chances and by the time it got to the AVS last chance neither team had scored and it was up to hometeam hero Joe Sakic. Sure enough in elegant fashion he beat the detroit goaile on his right sight to capture the shootout victory.
It was a great time and I can’t wait to hit up a bunch more games, especially Dec 7 vs Bufffalo and I will not be rooting for the home team that night.
Took some political test and here are my results. I’d like to say I’m in the middle or neither but this says otherwise. Interpret it how ever you feel. lol Tony I want to see what your results are?!? thnks Mat
Yeah I know the past week has been kinda dry around here. I guess I have been too busy celebrating the birthday… hardly. It is just one of those times that I really haven’t had much to say and wasn’t in the mood to just post the usuall funny story and or video I find while reading my dose of blogs. Anyway, I do have the Duke and the Bandit coming in for a short visit on Thursday and am quite excited for that. We are planning a trip up to Steamboat for a relaxing night at the Hot Springs. Ohhh and of course some Mexican Food and Margaritas! It’s beautiful up there… This time of year. Not quite the fall colors of Ohio, but i will ahve to do. I can’t wait.
Got home from work last night and Aileen surprised me with some Tickets she scored for last nights Oasis / Jet Show at Red Rocks. I was super excited, Our first time seeing a show at Red Rocks. (yeah it took a year and a half) Anyway, it was awesome. Perfect night weatherwise and any sold out venue heightens the energy. Jet blew oasis out of the water totally rocked the house and should have been the headliner but you know how it goes. None the less Greate time! Thanks Love!
I’ll Play Gran torismo for the rest of my life if I had this thing. Only about $425 too. Not that bad. More pics here

I read about this on another blog and found it quite interesting. Essentially the Library of Congress is archiving a bunch of Color photgraphs taken from 1939 - 1945. I honestly have never seen much or any photography from this era in color, being that I wasn’t born till several ( I mean Several) years after that, and that most images from that time are in Black and White I’m under the impression that it was always dark and grey out. It is not the most Navigatable site so I linked straight to the Subject Index Enjoy.

The Snug was having a Some sort of harvest Festival this past weekend. Included in this was The First Annual Capitol Hill Dog Show. It seems anywhere there’s a dog show the Humane Society is not far Behind and sure enough they were there with cute adorable canines dying to be adopted. They arrived early afternoon on saturday to set up and that was about when i got a call from Aileen who was working at the time. “You gotta come down and see this border collie mix hes adorable… You gotta see him” At that point I pretty much knew it was going to be an interesting day. To make a long story short by the end of the day we had a new member living with us and I bet you can guess who is the most displeased… Yeah Miss P is yet to be thrilled about the events of the last 48 hrs but i think intime they will warm up to one another. She needs a friend anyway. His Name is Jaques Cousteau.

kind of a slow week here, Whether it was my mind or laziness, we didnt see much here. But i hope to redeem my self with this clip
Watch it I guarantee you will laugh

Saw this on Boing Boing, And of course I checked it out. If you go to www.legos.com your treated to a lashing made by the Lego company for calling them legos and not Lego Bricks. When I visted the nearby Coors Brewery with some friends a few months ago They told us that customers starting calling Coors Light “The Silver Bullet” and since it became popular with its customers they adopted the name. Now that seems alot smarter than yelling at your customers, you know the ones that buy and use legos ehhh I mean Lego Brand building blocks. Ive never heard any one call them anything else other than Legos. Screw that I’m calling them Legos!!! and I don’t plan on stopping
Looks like EBay will be paying up to $4 bln for Skype The Online auction giant said this will allow users to call sellers and get last minute questions answers on items in the closing miutes. I wonder what else they have up their sleeve with this aquisistion.

This was passed on to me by a friend.
“The devastation that Katrina unleashed on New Orleans is unbelievable. The photos and videos emerging in the past few days are truly heart wrenching. We all are overwhelmed by the tragedy.
But it wasn’t a surprise to the experts. National Geographic’s article “Gone with the water” reads like a recent news story.
It describes the effects of a powerful hurricane that hits New Orleans. Sadly, it’s remarkably accurate.
This article, which was in the October 2004 issue, will help you understand why the magnitude of the disaster was so severe. A number of factors, both natural and human, are involved. And once you read it, you may wonder why better preparations weren’t made.”
Here is the link to the article.

I figured I’d get off my ass and finally post something especially after the extended weekend. With the exception of hitting the big ski and snowboard sale an almost unecessary 4 times I didnt do too much the last few days. With that and the news being swarmed with depressing stories and images from the madness that has consumed the gulf coast in the last week, I really don’t think I had much to say. As like most I too am pretty much speechless and frustrated about the whole thing.
If you can, please make a donataion to a valid organization.
The American Red Cross
ASPCA Disaster Relief Fund
It sucks that people are out posing as organizations scamming money from people.
If you cannont afford a monatary donation there are other things you can that are just as helpful. Donate old clothes, give blood.
That’s right folks… the rig arrived yesterday and I finally got it set up. For those of you who are wondering to yourself “what the hell is he talking about?” I purchased some audio equipment earlier this week to better my online audio presence. Please review this post Also, it’s a bunch of cool toys I can tinker around with at home when I’m bored. Well first off it is nothing fancy, but after some rough tests yesterday the mic sounds a million times better that the logitech headset i was using. The mixer is equally as Great. I have 8 channels and 100 onboard effects to mess with plus the thing has a usb out so I have a direct in and out with my PC. The computer sees it as another audio device (sound card) which with my already two soundcards installed, gives me a ton of flexibility. Of course i had to plug in a guitar last night and mess with that too
I am excited. Here is a link to some pics I took of the set up. Dont forget to check out next weeks Interstate1002 to hear the rig in use.
