You better not be callin them Legos!

September 13th, 2005 by The Knighthawk | Comments Off | Filed in base

Saw this on Boing Boing, And of course I checked it out. If you go to www.legos.com your treated to a lashing made by the Lego company for calling them legos and not Lego Bricks. When I visted the nearby Coors Brewery with some friends a few months ago They told us that customers starting calling Coors Light “The Silver Bullet” and since it became popular with its customers they adopted the name. Now that seems alot smarter than yelling at your customers, you know the ones that buy and use legos ehhh I mean Lego Brand building blocks. Ive never heard any one call them anything else other than Legos. Screw that I’m calling them Legos!!! and I don’t plan on stopping :P

This was passed on to me by a friend.

“The devastation that Katrina unleashed on New Orleans is unbelievable. The photos and videos emerging in the past few days are truly heart wrenching. We all are overwhelmed by the tragedy.

But it wasn’t a surprise to the experts. National Geographic’s article “Gone with the water” reads like a recent news story.

It describes the effects of a powerful hurricane that hits New Orleans. Sadly, it’s remarkably accurate.

This article, which was in the October 2004 issue, will help you understand why the magnitude of the disaster was so severe. A number of factors, both natural and human, are involved. And once you read it, you may wonder why better preparations weren’t made.”

Here is the link to the article.

If There wasn’t a better Time.

September 7th, 2005 by The Knighthawk | Comments Off | Filed in base

I figured I’d get off my ass and finally post something especially after the extended weekend. With the exception of hitting the big ski and snowboard sale an almost unecessary 4 times I didnt do too much the last few days. With that and the news being swarmed with depressing stories and images from the madness that has consumed the gulf coast in the last week, I really don’t think I had much to say. As like most I too am pretty much speechless and frustrated about the whole thing.

If you can, please make a donataion to a valid organization.
The American Red Cross
ASPCA Disaster Relief Fund

It sucks that people are out posing as organizations scamming money from people.

If you cannont afford a monatary donation there are other things you can that are just as helpful. Donate old clothes, give blood.

The Rig

September 2nd, 2005 by The Knighthawk | Comments Off | Filed in base, podcasting

That’s right folks… the rig arrived yesterday and I finally got it set up. For those of you who are wondering to yourself “what the hell is he talking about?” I purchased some audio equipment earlier this week to better my online audio presence. Please review this post Also, it’s a bunch of cool toys I can tinker around with at home when I’m bored. Well first off it is nothing fancy, but after some rough tests yesterday the mic sounds a million times better that the logitech headset i was using. The mixer is equally as Great. I have 8 channels and 100 onboard effects to mess with plus the thing has a usb out so I have a direct in and out with my PC. The computer sees it as another audio device (sound card) which with my already two soundcards installed, gives me a ton of flexibility. Of course i had to plug in a guitar last night and mess with that too :) I am excited. Here is a link to some pics I took of the set up. Dont forget to check out next weeks Interstate1002 to hear the rig in use.
