More DC

This is a very interesting town… I’ve only explored about a 1 mile radius but still interesting. It’s pretty friendly too. I am kind of shocked though I had no expectations. Every building seems to be some important Government building and I think that is because most of them are. On one side of the my hotel is the International Spy museum, not sure what that is all about. And on the other side is the Original US patent Office which is being renovated into the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery. Oh well i hope to hit some of the Galleries etc on Friday with My Parents… that should be cool.

The First Run

Aileen and I rose from the Aprtment at 6:45am Sunday morning to make the 60 min drive to ABasin for our first time on the slopes of the season. It was Awesome especially compared to the conditions last year at this time. I didn’t get to try out my new stuff (still in the shop) but I felt great out there and again was reminded why I love this sport.

It’s official I got the bug

After all the snow that has dumped in the mountains in the past few days and the stress of the PCN Launch is behind me, I am finally beginning to focus on the Ski season. I was able to drop off my new skis, bindings and boots to be mounted on Tuesday. I have a weekend getaway planned in a few weeks with some friends at a ski in/out Condo and just realized that I may have some time to hit the slopes this weeeknd. It’s Official the ski bug has bitten and that’s all I want to do. Ohh plus I got that new wireless remote for my Ipod… Oh I can’t wait.

Podcaster News Network

This may have been of the more busy of my life. Work all day come home work all night. My eyes are burnt out from staring at monitors all week. But It will be worth it. We have been putting finishing touches on the Podcaster News Network and I have to admit, it’s pretty slick. It’s going live tomorrow Friday Nov 11th. I’ll be in LA tomorrow for the launch at the Portable Media Expo and Podcast Convention. I can’t wait. So anyway click the link and check it out.

Yeah I know most of you are wondering exactly what the Podcaster News Network or PCN as we call it actually is. The following is taken from the about page

The Podcaster News Network has been developed to offer you short 3 – 5 minute podcasts, produced by our own PCN podcasters. You customize your daily news by choosing podcasts from various categories. By creating a PCN User account (sign up takes about a minute) you will then have the ability to select as many podcasts as you like and create a custom newscast. This custom news cast can then be listened to straight from the site, downloaded to your home computer /mp3 player or subscribed via a single RSS feed.

Let’s say your morning commute consists of a 35 minute jaunt to work. Log in to PCN, create a custom newscast of 7 for a perfectly timed newscast. Remember, each PCN podcasts last 5minutes. Subscribe to your Mycast feed and all of your news selections will be downloaded right to your chosen device. ”

I’m tellin ya it’s cool Anyway check it out http://www.podcasternewsnetwork.com

Less a week till the launch… yikes.

Already the week gone

I must say the week went by rather quickly for me. Almost all of my evenings were spent working on PCN. We’re winding down and getting ready for the launch. Though I’m sure there will be much more work ahead. I may have a week to come up for air after the L.A. gig. next weekend. then Kevin is in town for a few days followed by a trip to D.C. for work. It looks like mom and dad are going to make the trip from Ohio to D.C. to hang out for a day with me. I’m really excited for that. And then a brief few weeks before the treck to Ohio for the Holidays… wohoo.

Double You Tee Eff

Was reading my Bloglines and came across the following quote from an entry in boing boing “The US is the richest nation in the history of the world. Why cannot it restore electricity and water and help people rebuild their homes and neighborhoods? If the US can rebuild Afghanistan and Iraq, why not New Orleans?”

Makes ya wonder huh? Maybe cause they are too busy rebuilding Afghanistan and Iraq. I got two words Messed Up!

Our Maps are Better thanYour Maps

Well, I’m sure we saw it coming, Yahoo has unveiled a revamped, redesigned Maps Site which bares a striking resemblence to the new Google maps. Not quite as clean or smooth as Google But I do like the mini area map in the top right corner. The Live traffic option is real cool, Hmm No satellite view. I’ll have to mess with it more. Check it out here

We’re waiting mapquest!
