I have been asked to contribute to the Geek New Central Blog found at http://www.geeknewscentral.com/ Most of the stuff I post will be general tech and edu Tech related material. I’m pretty excited about this. So If my technical posts tend to slim out on this site hop on over to The Geek News Central. Don’t worry, I will still regularly post non tech related stuff here at 131j.
The following article pretty much summed up our weekend. (sorry I had to post this since I was The “friend” referred to in the article)

Oh yeah we got a dining room table set too
Drd was so kind to stop by last night with his Prereleased Nintendo Wii. All I have to say after 4 Hours of playing pretty much one game (Wii Sports) I’m hooked. and for 249.00 (much cheaper than the xbox 360 and the new PS3) It’s going to be really tempting. There are alot of cool things that make this device stand out and i could go on for ever about it but there are tons of reviews out there and my words would just add to the redundancy. One big deal is the new type of controller. Gaming was due for something new and Nintendo has come through! That thing is really cool and it works. Unfortunatly I wasn’t able to conect it to my wireless router and get online (my router is not supported) but all the cool online features just might make me get a new router. Heck, the ability to download the back catalog of nes, n64, nec and sega genesis games is enough. Yikes. All right i’ll stop here. I’ll just say I liked the Wii and I may find myself heading to the stores when it comes out in a week or two.
If you hadn’t heard or you don’t live in Colorado, yesterday was a nightmare for voters. It wasn’t even a presidential election. Server crashes, limited polling locations, Slow information gather were just a few of the issues that plagued the process that had many waiting in line for hours. I had decided to take a break from work mid afternoon and head next store to the Colorado Convention Center to cast my vote. “2 Hour wait?!? I have a meeting in an hour!” That was bunk. So I had to wait till after work to hit up the local high school. It ended up being a 90 min process which certainly could have been worse. The Volunteers were great keeping us up to date on line progress, and keeping us occupied with snacks and water. Usually after waiting in such a ridiculous line there’s a roller coaster or some sort of excitement at the end. In this case I got to press a few buttons and hope for the best. Exciting? Ehhh not as much as say the Raptor but certainly one of those proud to be American moments.

Many of you may have been aware that Aileen and I were in the process of buying a house in Denver. As of roughly 4:00pm yesterday we wrapped up closing and officially took possession of a small bungalow on the north side of the city. Everyone keeps asking me if I’m excited and I guess I really am but seemed more overwhelmed with anxiety, wanting to move out of apt asap. Most of the stuff is packed and the place is a maze of boxes. It’s not a fun place to live in right because of that. Saturday is the big move and thats what I’m excited for, getting out of our tiny cubby hole we call an apt. Unfortunately at this point taking stuff from a small apt to a larger house is going to leave much of the place empty. The next step will to save up some cash to get some furniture. Yikes homeowner stuff
