No Apologies

Well, I am still unable to post via flickr and Delicious so I will use that as the excuse to the lack of recent content. I’ve tried everything and no one seems to know what is causing the issues. I guess I just have to cross my fingers and hope it fixes itself. So with that being said, I’m sick of politics and burnt out on all my work. In fact all I want to do is sit in the house while it rains all day (unfortunatly it never rains here) wrapped up in blankets on the couch and play video games. I recently purchased “Endless Ocean” and “Toki Tori” for the Wii. Both games have been helping me divert from some of the daily redundancies I have tempory lost an interest it. “Endless Ocean” is a wonderful game of exploration that reinforces the fact that you have no where you need to be anytime soon. Just strap on your scuba gear and explore this vast undersea world. “Toki Tori” is a mind challenging puzzler also for the Wii. Think “Odd World” meets “Lemmings” Buy them and play them!

Stuff for your Wii

While killing time at home and trying to keep my mind off this nasty cold, I decided to create a little resource page to list all the cool websites and applications for the Nintendo Wii. You can find it by clicking the tab at the top of this site or simply by going to: [http://www.131j.com/wp/wii-resources/] I’m sure it’s far from the most comprehensive list out there but as I find more I will post them. If anyone out there feels that something should be listed to this page please let me know.  Enjoy.

2007 Spring Symposium

Wrapped another Spring Symposium yesterday. We had a great crowd, intuitive sessions, an Awesome video (Should be posted soon) and a very keen keynote. I pretty much passed out when I got home but found myself back in the office bright and early today setting up for a couple web and video conferences. Will there be time to relax this weekend…?

Finetune

I’ve stumbled across yet another service in the everlasting quest for the perfect streaming music site.  This one is called Finetune [finetune.com] Essentually finetune seems to take the best from Yahoo Launchcast and the best from Pandora they mix them up, add a little web 2.0 socialness to it and spit out their product. I can listen to preselected stations, I can create an instant station based on an artist or a tag users have applied to various songs or I can create a playlist. That’s right, Finetune allows users to go through Finetune’s extensive library of music and create custom playlists. Once you’ve made this playlist it can then be set as public for the rest of the Finetune community to enjoy, comment, tag etc. There are some RIAA type restrictions that Finetune must adhere too but personally I dont find them too intrusive.  For example, when creating a playlist you must have at least 45 songs and only 3 per artist before it can be used. But there is a great “I’m lazy” feature that will round out your playlist if you get overwhelmed trying to find 45 tracks. The feature that I am most excited about with Finetune is their cute little interface designed to optimize the finetune experience on your Nintendo Wii. It’s great and even looks like a nintendo branded application. So after spending hours creating the perfect playlist, making friends, tagging songs adding favorites, fire up your Wii (if you’ve found one) and bring the music to your living room.

Finalii

Got to a best buy at 10:10 am on Sunday and apparently it was 10 hours too late. (that’s when people started lining up) They only had 9 so they sold out as soon as it opened on Sunday. My brother in Salt Lake had a tip that a Toys’R'Us by him was getting 30 - 40. He was on his way there to try to pick on up for himself and I figured since there was a Toys’R'US down the road from where I was I’d check it out. besides it didn’t open till 11am. I got there and it was a ghost town. Two cars in the lot with people in them and three kids skateboarding near the entrance which made me curious. Aileen and I decided to run into the PetCo next door and see what the deal was when we got back. As soon as we were walking back (around 10:30) we saw three people in three separate cars all get up and line up. I figured I’d better get in line. Luckily I did. they had 15 units and I was number 6. Wohoo! Turns out there were 48 at the store in Salt Lake.
